The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • To ensure that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution.
  • To ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company Integrated Management System and project specific documentation
  • To ensure awareness, understanding and control of all PC operating systems relating to the content of the project or contract.
  • To ensure project specific procedures and work scopes are followed.
  • To ensure anomalies identified during online (and offline) are accurately recorded and reported to the Inspection Coordinator, Superintendent and client in a timely manner determined by the magnitude of the finding.
  • To ensure equipment and consumables selected are suitable for the work and 'stock levels' maintained;
  • Assist project reporting and delivery, in accordance with Fugro / Client specification, and document control parameters. Any variations must be documented and the MAI Reporting team informed.
  • To ensure good communication with the inspection engineers during shift handovers and with the Inspection Coordinators and Vessel Superintendent.
  • Promote team work at the worksite with all associated parties and ensure good communication lines between all.
  • To ensure safe, efficient and profitable execution of ROV vessel based pipeline and structural and platform based inspections as determined by the reporting lines above.
  • Continually seek to improve project performance thus assisting in maintaining a competitive edge for further development. This may include identification of new methods and technology for ultimate cost reductions.


  • A minimum of an HND level in Engineering or IT



The following attributes are essential:  

  • Excellent English language skills, verbal and written;
  • Good IT skills and knowledge. Ability to understand technical / engineering drawings.
  • Excellent commination skills and a positive attitude
  • Based in Aberdeen
  • Able to work offshore

The following attributes are desirable:

  • Offshore experience
  • Experience with Digital video and networking
