Position Overview

As a Project Control Engineer, you will be part of a team in Singapore managing marine geotechnical site investigations predominantly in the APAC region with the support from other departments in Singapore. Marine geotechnical site investigation projects vary from smaller exploration or reconnaissance survey lasting few weeks to large scale field development projects lasting up to several months with clientele ranging from oil & gas companies, renewable energy developers and local governments. As Project Control Engineer, you are responsible to develop, implement and maintain processes and project controls; interfacing with the commercial, operations, procurement, laboratory, engineering and financial department; and, provide centralised planning and scheduling on all key assets. The candidate needs to have a background in engineering or science field of civil, geotechnical, construction, systems or industrial; have an interest in commercial, analytical and problem solving; prefer a hands-on approach and have good self-discipline; and while the role is predominantly onshore based, have an appetite of occasionally travelling to other offices and offshore work life to understand the work flow better.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Initiate, review and monitor key control processes for various stages of the project life cycle;
  • Develop control measures from lessons learned to further improve the system;
  • Conduct regular audits of projects to ensure the processes are adhered and identifies improvement suggestions (finance, tax, compliance, contracts, etc);
  • Develop project success factors with the assigned Project Manager for each project;
  • Track and maintain finances, time and resources control over the project lifecycle for each project and identify improvements and trends;
  • Intervene and introduce recovery plans should the project is veering off tracks;
  • Collate findings of the project during the Project Evaluation Phase and feedback to relevant department;
  • Maintain overall planning and utilisation for key assets (vessel, equipment and personnel);
  • Report to the Process and Project Owner, i.e the Service Line Director;


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with minimum 3 years relevant working experience in a similar role;
  • Professional Certification in Project Management will be an advantage;
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in English;
  • Experience within the offshore marine sector will be an advantage;
  • Commercial interest, experience from tendering processes and contract negotiations will be an advantage;
  • Experience in Microsoft software packages is a requirement;
  • A good team player, self-driven and willing to take responsibility for assigned tasks
