Fugro provides essential infrastructure information for rail professionals to help build a better understanding of the status of rail assets. With this information we help to optimise design, construction and maintenance of rail infrastructure. For this purpose we develop, build and operate our own equipment, such as Fugro's RILA systems

With RILA we provide accurate, up-to-date information in a safer, faster and more affordable way, with limited disruption to railway traffic. Fugro helps rail professionals worldwide to design, build, upgrade and maintain their railway infrastructure. By creating a 3D virtual model of the railway corridor - including track, catenary, switches and crossings, cable runs, track bed, earthworks and structures - RailData services help our clients deliver improved efficiencies in asset management and engineering.

To strengthen our team we are looking for an industry professional that is able to represent our innovative solutions for asset management, maintenance and engineering services in the European rail market.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Setting-out the commercial short and mid-term strategy for the Fugro in the railway industry.
  • Developing and supporting the implementation of the business development strategy for the railway industry.
  • Representing Fugro on conferences, key note speeches and industry associations
  • Managing and supporting regional Key Accounts.
  • Creating and leading the submission of regional tenders.
  • Building business cases for the implementation of the RailData solution with our accounts.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and delivering significant new work consistent with the company's strategic objectives through both individual and team efforts.
  • Providing timely and accurate reports on business opportunities, customer and competitor activities.

Requirements

The right candidate has broad international experience, expertise in railway engineering, asset management & maintenance and understands the challenges the industry is facing. Preferably he or she has been in the position of providing business transformation consultancy within the rail market. The role requires looking for opportunities and prospects in the railway infrastructure and developing those opportunities to service contracts. Emphasis lies on the branding and awareness of the industry and conveying the business benefits of the RailData concept. The role is part of the Rail Transport Europe & Caspian regional team and collaborates with the program managers on awarded contracts and internationally with the global experts in the Railway Infrastructure industry.

The role would be preferably based from the Netherlands and involves frequent travel. Remuneration will be commensurate on experience and expertise. 

We are looking for candidates who are excellent, reliable and efficient. We require first class communicators that have a proactive and systematic approach with a cooperative attitude. 

 

This is a challenging position and will require a diverse set of skills of which the following would be considered essential:

 

  • Verifiable contacts within the industry.
  • Positive business relationships in the industry.
  • Proven track record in the railway industry.
  • Strong business acumen, client-service, and results orientation.
  • Exceptional communication skills oral, written and listening, particularly with those at executive levels.
  • Ability to work in a highly independent environment.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

 

Following requirements are considered favourable:

 

  • Business operations including knowledge in maintenance and inspection activities
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the rail maintenance industry and/or railway engineering industry.
